I want to paint a design on my garden shed, which paint would be best?

It has already been painted using an oil based paint, I have been told that artist oil paints would be best, I haven’t used oil paints much before so I am unsure of how to use them on shed.

You can use any oil paint. I use artist oil paint but it is pricey if it is a big design. Varnishing over the design is a good idea and very easy. You could use normal household oil paint for the bigger areas and artist’s paint for the more intricate work.

    If you want it to last a long time best to use a gloss oil based paint as used for painting your home. Artists paint will not last long unless coated in a clear weather proof varnish, they’re also very expensive.
